GEO & AI search agency in Singapore: AI recommends the brand it can verify.

When buyers ask ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity or Gemini what to buy, the answer goes to the brand with proof AI can check. Generative engine optimisation (GEO) is how we publish that proof, and we track every answer.

What GEO is

What is generative engine optimisation (GEO)?

How an AI answer picks a brand, in four steps.

Generative engine optimisation (GEO, also spelled optimization), which some agencies call AI SEO, is the work of getting your brand named and cited in AI-generated answers: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Claude.

Every engine builds an answer the same way. It reads the prompt, searches an index of the web, keeps the sources that agree with each other, then writes an answer naming the brands those sources support. GEO works on the middle two steps: being in the index, and being the brand the sources agree on.

Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the older, narrower idea of shaping a page so a search engine lifts it as the direct answer. GEO includes that, and adds everything off your site that AI checks before it names you.

  1. Step 1Prompt

A buyer asks: “best boutique hotel in Madrid for a couple?”

  2. Step 2Search

The engine queries an index: Google's, Bing's or its own crawler's.

    Can it read you?
  3. Step 3Verify

It keeps sources that agree: your site, Business Profile, reviews, press.

    Do your facts match?
  4. Step 4Answer

It names the brands those sources support, usually with links.

    Are you cited?

Where AI looks

AI reads your whole information universe, not just your website.

When an engine checks a brand, it doesn't stop at your site. It reads your Google Business Profile, your reviews on Google and Tripadvisor, YouTube videos and public social posts, and what other people say about you on Reddit, booking sites, news sites and Wikipedia.

Some of those sources are wired straight in. Google gets Reddit's posts in real time through a data partnership announced in February 2024, and OpenAI announced its own Reddit partnership that May.

The more of your universe agrees on the same facts, the more confidently AI names you. The inner ring is yours to fix this week; the outer ring takes months to earn.

What works

Quotes and statistics beat keywords.

The term GEO comes from a 2023 study by researchers at Princeton, IIT Delhi and the Allen Institute for AI, presented at KDD 2024. They rewrote web pages nine ways and measured how much of each page generative engines used in their answers.

Adding quotations, statistics and cited sources raised a page's visibility by 30 to 40 per cent. Keyword stuffing, the old SEO habit, made it worse. That is why our pages lead with figures, named sources and quotable sentences, not repeated phrases.

Why now

Your buyers already ask AI.

Including your buyers in Singapore. Each figure is the company's own.

The problem

When AI doesn't trust you yet.

Three patterns we find for most brands, and what we change.

ChatGPT recommends our competitor.

Citable pages and proof AI can verify.

AI gets our prices and services wrong.

One set of facts, published where AI reads.

We rank on Google, but AI answers never mention us.

Reviews and mentions on the sites AI trusts.

Our research

What stops AI citing a brand: 12 hotels audited.

Between June and October 2026 we audited 12 hotels in six countries for AI search. Being mentioned was rarely the problem: 9 of the 10 we tested were named in an AI answer that didn't use their name.

Being mentioned with the right facts was. Six of the seven we checked had a name, address or key fact that changed from site to listing. Most had no Hotel structured data and no page that answers guests' questions in plain sentences. None had a working llms.txt, and it didn't matter.

The fixes are unglamorous, and they are most of what GEO is. Read the full audit.

Engine by engine

What each AI engine reads before it names you.

They don't share one index. Each has its own crawler, and blocking the wrong one quietly removes you from its answers.

  • ChatGPT search

    Reads: OpenAI's search crawler

    Crawler to allow: OAI-SearchBot

OpenAI: sites that block OAI-SearchBot are not shown in ChatGPT search answers. Blocking GPTBot only opts you out of model training. OpenAI

  • Google AI Overviews and AI Mode

    Reads: Google's search index

    Crawler to allow: Googlebot

Google: a page must be indexed and eligible for a snippet. No special files or markup are needed. Google

  • Perplexity

    Reads: Perplexity's own index

    Crawler to allow: PerplexityBot

Perplexity: the bot surfaces and links sites in its answers and isn't used to train models. Perplexity

  • Claude

    Reads: Anthropic's search index

    Crawler to allow: Claude-SearchBot

Anthropic: blocking it may reduce your visibility in Claude's search answers. ClaudeBot is the separate training crawler. Anthropic

How it works

How we build AI visibility.

The same method every month.

  1. Map the questions

We find the prompts buyers use and who AI names today.

  2. Publish the proof

Pages, facts and reviews AI can verify and quote.

  3. Track the answers

Your citation share, reported every month.

Every month: new prompts mapped, new proof published, answers tracked.

The first 90 days

What happens after you sign.

GEO is slower than ads and faster than most SEO. Fixing facts and crawler access shows in weeks; earning mentions on the sites engines trust takes months.

Every month you get the same report: your AI citations by prompt and engine, the sources cited, and your leads alongside.

  1. Weeks 1 to 2

    AI Answer Audit

Our baseline: a fixed set of real buyer prompts run through ChatGPT, AI Overviews, Perplexity and Gemini, recording who is named and which sources are cited. Rerun the same way every month, so the change is measured, not guessed.

  2. Weeks 2 to 6

    Fix the facts

One set of names, addresses, prices and services across your site, Google Business Profile and listings, with schema that matches the page. Crawlers checked.

  3. Weeks 4 to 10

    Publish the proof

Pages that answer buyers' questions in quotable sentences, with figures, sources and FAQs.

  4. Weeks 8 to 12

    Earn the mentions

Reviews and coverage on the sites the engines cite for your category.

  5. Every month

    Track and correct

Citation share per engine, and fixes wherever an answer gets you wrong.

  • Report an AI “visibility score” with no prompts or sources behind it
  • Publish dozens of near-identical AI-written pages a month
  • Can't show a client named in a real AI answer

FAQ

AI Search Visibility: questions, answered.

Anything else, ask us on the call or on WhatsApp.

What is a GEO agency?

An agency that gets your brand named and cited in answers written by AI, such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity and Gemini. The work is making your facts consistent, your pages quotable and your brand mentioned on the sources those engines trust, then tracking the answers.

How do you get a brand recommended by ChatGPT?

By making it easy for AI to verify you: clear pages that answer buyers' questions, consistent facts across the web, and reviews and mentions on the sites AI trusts. ChatGPT search also needs to be able to read your site, so OAI-SearchBot must not be blocked. We then track which answers name you.

Is GEO different from SEO and AEO?

They overlap. SEO earns a ranking in Google's list; AEO shapes a page so it becomes the direct answer; GEO earns the recommendation inside an AI answer. Strong SEO helps AI find you, and GEO adds the proof and consistency AI needs to name you.

Is SEO dead now with AI?

No. Google picks the links in AI Overviews and AI Mode from pages in its index that are eligible to show a snippet, so a page that can't rank in search rarely gets cited there. ChatGPT search and Perplexity search the web too. What has changed is what you measure: being named in the answer, not only your position in the list. SEO is the base; GEO is the layer that earns the mention.

How much does GEO cost in Singapore?

From S$2,500 a month, a fixed fee and never a percentage. Starter is S$2,500 (10 pieces of content a month, 15 AI questions tracked), Growth S$4,500 (17 pieces, 30 questions, 2 authority placements a month) and Scale S$8,000 (25 pieces, 50 questions, 4 placements, PR). Hotels that don't need articles can take Hotel Direct at S$1,800 a month. Full details are on our pricing page.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

No. Google says no new machine-readable or AI text files are needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and in our audit of 12 hotels none had a working llms.txt, yet 9 of 10 tested were named in AI answers. We add one to the sites we build because it takes minutes, not because it gets you cited.

Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?

No, and be wary of anyone who does. AI answers vary by engine, wording and day. What we can show is the change in how often you're named across a fixed set of real buyer prompts, every month.

How long before AI mentions us?

Fixes to facts and crawler access can show within weeks. Earning mentions on the sources engines trust takes months. Your first report shows where you start, and every monthly report shows the change.
